Janet Simpson

JANET SIMPSON, age 80, of New Paris, Ohio, died Monday, September 24, 2007 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Born on November 16, 1926 in Twila, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Gilbert & Elizabeth (Osborne) Simpson. Janet attended Wallins Creek High School in Wallins Creek, Kentucky and had worked for the Champion Paper Co. in Hamilton, Ohio, Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond and was the Activities Director at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Richmond before retiring. Member of the Church of Christ in New Paris. She is preceded in death by brother: Gilbert Simpson, Jr..

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William “Bill” Simpson; sons & daughter-in-law: Wayne & Jone Simpson of Eaton, Ohio and Danny Simpson of Middletown, Ohio; sister, Voulena Adkins of Union, Ohio; half-brother, Herman Simpson and half-sister, Lois Simpson both of Loyall, Kentucky; Grandchildren: Brian (Julie) Simpson of New Paris, Mike (Dawna) Simpson of Camden, Ohio, Brenda Simpson of Eaton (who is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force), Tesha (Derek) Beamer of Eaton, Christy (Rob) Cayce of San Bernardino, California and Steven (Melissa) of Yacuipa, California; Eight great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm , Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio 45347 with Rev. Eldon Harzman officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 27, 2007 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
