Janet E. Rike

JANET E. RIKE, 71, of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at her residence. Janet was born on July 11, 1937 in New Madison, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles Ralph & Mary Myrtle(Hogg) Kasserman. She was a 1955 Lewisburg Union High School graduate and had worked as a cashier for several years at Brennan's Super Valu in Lewisburg. She was also a newspaper carrier for the Dayton Daily News. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald T."Ted" Rike in 2001 and her sister, Joyce Brown in 1988.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin & Elizabeth Rike of Brookville, Ohio and Curtis & Connie Rike of New Madison, Ohio; daughter, Lisa Benson of Springfield, Ohio; brother & sister-in-law, Karl & Sandy Kasserman of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda & Mark Morris of Pickerington, Ohio and Brenda & Joe Ochmanski of Brook Park, Ohio; grandchildren, Kali Hawkins of Brookville, Ohio, Brittany, Jordan, Christina , Rae Ann & Ryan Rike of Springfield, Ohio, Brandon & Josh Rike and Samantha Coomer of New Madison, Ohio; great granddaughter, Aaliyah M. Rike. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, Ohio with Rev. George Pennington officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Following the service at the cemetery the family would like to invite family and friends for a time of food and fellowship at Rob's Restaurant, 705 Arlington Rd., Brookville, Ohio.
