Jane Paxton

Jane Paxton, age 80 of Eaton, OH, passed away, Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Vancrest Nursing and Care Center in Eaton. Jane was born on July 6, 1938 in Dixon Township, Preble County, Ohio, daughter of the late Paul G. and Hilda L. (Somers) McWhinney. She was a 1956 graduate of Dixon-Israel High School in Dixon Township and a 1960 graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business degree. After working for COMSAT and INTELSAT in Washington, D.C. for 15 years, she retired in 1996 from Rohm-Haas in West Alexandria, OH where she was the Director of Human Resources.

In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her first husband, Col. Pat R. Paxton in 1985 and second husband, Leigh Walling in 1998.

Survived by her daughter, Lori E. Puckett and son, Michael D. Paxton; grandchildren, Brian and Taryn Puckett and Brenda and Brent Wilkerson; great grandson, Liam Puckett; brother and sister-in-law, Dale M. and Sharon McWhinney; niece and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Dr. Greg F. Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton.
