James Lee “Chick” Schleiger, 78 of West Alexandria, Ohio died on Friday, February 7, 2025 at his residence. Born on March 25, 1946, son of the late Leonard Edward & Mary Alice (Geeting) Schleiger.
He was a 1964 graduate of Verona High School. Owner of Schleiger’s Garage in Lewisburg, Ohio. He also retired from General Motors in Dayton, Ohio. He enjoyed drag racing and motorcycles.
He proudly served in the US Army from 1965 to 1967. Member of the American Legion Post 322.
Preceded by his sister, Norma Jean Wright in 2016; brother-in-law, Dale Gene Thompson in 2025.
Survived by wife of 37 years, Rose Schleiger of West Alexandria, Ohio; step children, Gerald (Joyce) Hardesty and Scott (Julie) Hardesty; three grandchildren, Danielle Hardesty, William Hardesty, and Amber (John) Carter; three great grandchildren, Russell, Bayleigh, and Violet; siblings; Linda Ann Easton, Henry Schleiger, and Ethel Thompson.
A Graveside inurnment will be held at Roselawn Cemetery will be announced at a later time.
