James Ray Atkins

James R. Atkins, 82, of New Paris, OH, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at his residence. Born on March 29, 1934 in Madisonville, TN, he was the son of the late Enos C. & Donnie M. (Pack) Atkins. James was the Owner/Operator of Jim's Body Shop in Richmond, IN for over 40 years. He was an avid fan of horse racing. Preceded in death by his Sister: Louise Bledsoe.

Survived by his Wife of 64 years: Lucille (Ellis) Atkins; Sons: William R. & (Liz) Atkins, Rodney Atkins and Gerald Ben (Mary) Atkins; Daughter: Deborah (Mike) Flora; Sisters: Katheryn Raper and Betty Burris; Brother: Jerry Atkins. 7 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main St., New Paris, OH with Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
