James R. "Jim" Martin

James R. "Jim" Martin, 76, of Camden, OH, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Born on August 8, 1937 in Bradford, Ohio, son of the late Theodore L. & Magdaline D. (Helman) Martin. Jim graduated from Bradford High School in 1956. Jim had worked at Val Decker in Piqua followed by Champion Paper in Piqua and retired from Champion in Hamilton after 31 years of service. Jim proudly served in the US Army and retired as a Master SGT in the Ohio National Guard after 24 years of service. Member of Eaton Church of the Brethren and a volunteer at the Brethren Heritage Center in Brookville, Ohio. Former Mayor of Seven Mile, Ohio.

Preceded in death by his infant daughter, Susan Renee Martin in 1967; brothers-in-law, Denny Plessinger and Terry Price; step mother, Helen Martin.

Survivors include his children, Shirley Ann & Virgil Meyer of Ainsworth, Iowa, Theresa Sue & James Beiser of Seven Mile, Ohio, James Brian & Marianne Martin of Jacksonville, Illinois, Denise Linn & Terry Gault of Camden, Ohio; brother & sister-in-law, Gary & Charleen Martin of Fowler, Indiana; sisters, Sharon Plessinger of Versailles, Ohio, Carol Price of Arcanum, Ohio and Diane Bell of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 16 grandchildren, Heather, Kyle, Alex, Matt, Jamie, Danielle, Morgan, James Nicholas, Lauren, Patrick, Christopher, Alison, Chelsea, Sarah, Timothy and Noah; 6 great grandchildren, Peyton, Jaden, Kylee, Soleil, Joseph and Solange; special friend, Estelle Brockman of Seven Mile, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio 45320 with Rev. Martin Peacock officiating. Interment will be held in Miami Memorial Park, 7875 North Crescent Road, Covington, Ohio with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home in Eaton.
