James Powell "Snoop" Hartman, 82 longtime resident of Somerville, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. Born on August 16, 1934 in Somerville, Ohio son of the late, George & Elnora R. (Powell) Hartman. James was a 1952 graduate of Stewart High School in Oxford, Ohio. James was employed by ARMCO for 40 years. James was the oldest Somerville Resident. James loved HAM Radio & his handle was "Super Snoop". Member of the Oxford Masonic Lodge, No. 67. Member of Somerville Community Church.
James proudly served in the US Marines from 1954 to 1956.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his 1st wife of 53 years, Sarrah Nadine Hartman; children, Steven Ronald Hartman and Gregory James Hartman; siblings, Margaret Elizabeth Neanover, Vernon F. Hartman, Sally Louise Ashcraft, Robert Aaron Hartman, Dollie Alice Sandlin.
Survived by his wife of 8 years, Helen McCall Hartman; son, Mark Hartman; grandchildren, Marcus Hartman, Joshua (Jessica) Hartman and Danielle Long; great grandchildren, Natile, Greg, Joshua, Jr., Aiden, Matthew and Sammy; step children, Bobby (Vickie) McGaha, Randy (Tausha) McGaha, Keith (Sheila) McCall, Kelly (Monica) McCall and Lisa (Eric) Hurley; numerous step grandchildren & step great grandchildren who loved him dearly.
Funeral Service held at 11:30 AM on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Somerville Community Church, 207 Walnut Street, Somerville, Ohio with Pastor Edward Brown officiating. Fellowship will begin at 10:00 AM prior to the Service. Interment held at Somerville Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, Ohio 45320.
