James P. Scisson

JAMES P. SCISSON, 89 of Lewisburg, OH, died Monday, October 26, 2009 in Dayton, OH. Born on September 22, 1920 in Elaine, AR, he was the son of the late Burke A. & Jennie L. (Briggs) Scisson. He retired in 1979 from Twin Valley North High School in Lewisburg after 32 plus years as a vocational agricultural teacher. He was a 1937 Brinkley High School graduate in Brinkley, AR, graduate of the University of Arkansas and Ohio State University with a Masters Degree from University of Arkansas, WW II and Korea U.S. Army veteran 1942 - 1945 and 1950 - 1951, member of O.E.A., N.E.A., and the Ohio Vocational Association, Inc. He was a Past Master and 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Caledonia, OH.

Preceded in death by his Wife of 51 years, Sara G. Scisson in 2004; Brothers: William, Eugene & Burke Scisson; Sister: Betty Scisson.

Survived by Son: James P. Scisson, Jr., Toledo, OH; Daughter & Son-in-law: Luann E. & Eric Willford, Findlay, OH; Grandchildren: Andrew & Sarah Scisson. Nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 511 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, OH with Rev. Brent Cavendish officiating. Interment with military honors by the Preble County Honor Guard will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
