James L. Powell

James L. Powell, age 73 of West Manchester, OH passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at his residence. Born on January 21, 1940 in Trenton, Ohio he was the son of the late Stanley & Helen (Shafer) Powell. Jim was a 1958 Farmersville High School graduate. He was a long time Preble County dairy farmer, avid bowler and euchre player. Member of the American Bowling Congress where he received recognition for two 300 games. Preceded in death by Brother: Robert Powell in 2008 and Sister: Betty Powell in 2012.

Survived by wife of 45 years: Rebecca Sue (Hawkey) Powell; two sons & daughters-in-law: Paul E. & Tina Powell of Eaton and James S. & Kilea Powell of Fort Recovery, OH; Six brothers: Norman (Sharon) Powell of Eaton, OH; Tom (Patty) Powell of West Alexandria, OH; John (Georgia) Powell and William (Joanne) Powell both of Lewisburg, OH; Richard Powell of Farmersville, OH; Gerald (Patty) Powell of Massey, Ontario Canada. Uncle Luther Powell (100 years old) of Somerville, OH; Seven grandchildren: Heavyn Powell, Brandon Powell, Caitlyn Powell, Damien Powell, Lilly Powell, Tyler Francis and Abbie Francis.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Barnes Funeral Home – 220 East Main Street Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Rodney Shelley and Pastor John Gilmore officiating. Interment will be held in Wares Chapel Cemetery – West Manchester, OH. Family will receive friends on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
