James Kurtis Bullen age 24, of Eaton, OH, died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at a family residence in Eaton. James was born on December 19, 1984 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi and was a US Army Specialist serving with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY He had recently returned from a one year tour in Afghanistan and was home on leave from Fort Campbell. He has lived in Preble County since the age of 6 months, member of Eaton Church of The Brethren and was a decorated soldier of the Afghanistan war.
Survivors include: Wife: Samantha (Hartley) Bullen; Mother: Mary Ellen Vice of Eaton, OH; Father: James M. Bullen of Centerville, IN; Stepdaughters: Kyleigh Hartley and Isabella Binder; Sisters: Brenda Lutz of West Alexandria, OH and Nicole Myren of Eaton, OH; Nieces: Tori Lutz and Kiersten Woods; Nephew: Tre Lutz; Grandmother: Margaret Jordan of Houlka, MS; Grandfather: Gerald Vice of Houston, MS; Grandmother: Irma Ridenour of West Alexandria, OH and beloved dog Diesel.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Eaton Church of The Brethren – 813 Camden Road – Eaton, OH with Rev Martin Peacock officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton, OH. Family will receive friends on Friday, April 17, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Barnes Funeral Home – 220 East Main Street – Eaton, OH and one hour prior to the service at the church.
