James G. Shepherd

JAMES G. "JIM" SHEPHERD, age 71, of Eaton, Ohio, died Friday April 3, 2009, at Hospice of Dayton. Born on August 8, 1937 near Duffield, Virginia, he was the son of the late Hence & Etta Lee (Stone) Shepherd. He retired in 1980 from C & C Auto parts at Miamisburg, Ohio. Member of the Twin Valley Rod & Gun club. Preceded in death by a infant daughter in 1960; grandchild: Katherine Hall in 1988; brothers: Homer H. Shepherd and Hascue Shepherd; sister: Oma Murphy.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Lou (Johnson) Shepherd; children: Paul Roy Shepherd of Eaton, Ohio, Rhonda Louise Johnson of Kentucky, Wade "Kevin" & Amy Shepherd of Cincinnati, Ohio, Patricia M. & Thomas Hall of Gratis, Ohio, Nathaniel "Keith" & Terri Shepherd of Eaton, Ohio and Elizabeth E. & Mark Taulbee of Morgantown, Kentucky. Sisters: Opal Flannery of Middletown, Ohio, Lois (James) Moore of Miamisburg, Ohio and Peggy Ann Bachert of Middletown, Ohio. Brother: Larry Allen (Karen) Shepherd of Monroe, Ohio. Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Pastor Thomas Hall Sr. officiating. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery at Gratis, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
