James F. Geeting

JAMES F. GEETING, age 88, of Eaton, Ohio, died Sunday, May 14, 2006 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Born on August 3, 1917 in Harrison Twp., Preble County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Clarence Ray & Minnie Alice (Roselius) Geeting. He retired in 1985 after 24 years as Preble County Treasurer. A 1937 graduate of Lewisburg Union High School, U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WW II and attended Miami Junior College of Business in Dayton. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lewisburg, American Legion Post #213 and Disabled American Veterans, both of Lewisburg and was a Past President of the Southwest District Association of Ohio County Treasurer’s. Preceded in death by Wife: Elsie (Bayne) Geeting in 2005; Sisters: Dorotha Farrenkopf in 1995 and Charlotte Boomershine in 2002.

Survived by Nieces & Nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 - 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church - 511 N. Commerce St. - Lewisburg, Ohio with Pastor Brent L. Cavendish officiating. Interment will be held in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria, Ohio with full military honors by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 from 10 - 11 a.m. at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church - 511 N. Commerce St. - Lewisburg, Ohio 45338.
