James Edward Goss

James E. “Butch” Goss, 78 of Eaton, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Born on July 12, 1943 in Windham, Ohio, he was the son of the late John and Thora (Davis) Goss. 

As a young man, James loved hunting, trapping and working hard. In his later years he enjoyed fishing, metal detecting and keeping his yard beautiful. His whole life he was willing to always help his friends, family and even strangers whenever he could. He was a very loving and generous man who loved life. He will be greatly missed. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved Wife of 47 years: Erma (Bowers) Goss, Son: Dewayne Merk; Sisters: Geraldine Goss, Betty Goss Thompson, Linda Goss Savage and Helen Goss Gains. 

He is survived by Daughters: Tina Goss (Brad) Aldrich and Jami Goss; Grandchildren: Brooke Aldrich (Chris) Gilbert, Heather Aldrich (Zachary) Knoll, Neil Carpenter, Tiffany Fleming and David Merk. Great Grandchildren: Aviana Gilbert, Andrew Gilbert, Berlin Carpenter and Sebastian Carpenter. Many beloved nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time for him and his wife.
