James E. Juday

JAMES E. "JIM" JUDAY, age 78, of New Paris, OH, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in Richmond, IN. Born on March 29, 1931 in New Paris, OH, he was the son of the late Edward O. "Kink" & Martha Mae (Jones) Juday. Jim was the President & Co-Owner of Jones & Juday in New Paris. He retired in 1998. He had also worked for Wagner Paving 1998 - 2008. A 1949 Jefferson Twp. High School graduate, U.S. Navy Korean Conflict veteran having served in the underwater demolition unit, member of the Masonic Lodge in New Paris, Antioch Shrine in Dayton, OH and American Legion in New Paris, past board member of the Board of Mental Retardation. Preceded in death by Sister: Janann Olivia Juday in 1956.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years: Gloria Sue (Lipps) Juday; Daughter: Jeryl A. Sims, New Paris, OH; Step Children: Anthony J. Shumaker, Richmond, IN, Dixie J. (Jerry) Gabbard, Richmond, IN, Kem E. Shumaker, Eaton, OH; Brothers & Sisters-in-law: Jack E. (June) Juday, New Paris, OH, Jerry M. (Joan) Juday, West Alexandria, OH; Grandson: Joshua J. Sims, Great Grandchildren: Madison Sims & Jessica Sims; Step Grandchildren: Amy & Jason Gabbard. Special Nephews: Jason, Eric & Patrick Juday and other nieces & nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2009 at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio. with Rev. Joe Watkins officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris with full Military Services provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends Thursday, August 6, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Masonic Services at 8:00 p.m. and also one hour prior to service on Friday.
