James E. Johnson, age 86, of Camden, Ohio died on Monday, May 11, 2015 after an auto & train accident near his home. Born on October 13, 1928 in Hamilton, OH he was the son of the late Christopher B. & Nina (Johnson) Johnson.
James was a U.S. Army W.W. II veteran. He had worked at the G.M. Assembly Plant in Moraine for 10 years from 1982 to 1992. He had also worked at Lowes, Miami University and Farming. Member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Posts both in Camden and the Amvets in Hamilton, OH. Preceded in death by a grandson: Mathew Johnson in 2009; sisters: Betty Madden, Helena Johnson and Margaret Durham; brother: Jackson Johnson.
Survived by his wife of 56 years: Lillian A. (Stansberry) Johnson; sons: Robert A. (Margie) Johnson of Terra Bella, CA; Gregory S. (Geraldine) Johnson of Wildomar, CA; daughter: Joyce R. (William) Singleton of Camden, OH; sisters: Geneva Thompson of Grants Pass, OR and Judy (Pete) Johnson of Kent, WA; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday, May 15, 2015 at Fairmount Cemetery – Camden, OH with Rev. Rick Tennison officiating. The Preble County Honor Guard will provide military honors.
