James D. Mcneill

James D. McNeill age 80 of New Paris, OH, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at his residence. Born on August 3, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri he was the son of the late James Paul & Helen (Sullivan) McNeill. James was a 1955 New Paris Jefferson High School graduate and in 1959 he graduated from Earlham College with a Bachelor’s Degree. James was a Contract Officer for D.E.S.C. in Dayton, Ohio retiring in 1993 after 34 years of service. He was a Jefferson Township Trustee for 4 years and served with the Indiana National Guard for several years. James loved his family and enjoyed camping, boating, traveling and finding low priced garage sales. He didn’t know a stranger wherever he traveled.

Survived by his wife: Sally (Smith) McNeill; son & daughter-in-law: Michael J. & Helen L. McNeill of Springfield, VA; daughter & son-in-law: Heather M. & Scott F. Wright of Middletown, OH; granddaughter: Jocelyn McNeill Wright.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, OH 45347.
