James Curtis "Jim" Hampton

James Curtis "Jim" Hampton, 68 of New Paris, OH, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Born on October 20, 1947 in Richmond, IN son of the late Walter Earl & Margaret Elizabeth (Herrel) Hampton. Jim was a 1965 graduate of New Madison High School. Jim had worked for 37 years at Wayne Works then Carpenter in Richmond, IN. He also worked with Mike Freeland for 15 years. Jim loved to golf, fish and coach sports; baseball & softball. Jim was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Preceded in death by father-in-law, Bill Killen.

Survived by his wife, Teresa "Teri" Hampton; children, Patricia & Doug Miller, Gregory & Kelly Hampton and Jeffery & Bekah Hampton; grandchildren, Sarah Miller, Paige Hampton, Blake Hampton, Tyler Miller, Jayden Hampton & Jaxon Hampton; brother, Dan & Lisa Hampton; sister, Brenda & Michael Blocher; mother-in-law, Marjory Killen; nieces & nephews, Scott Blocher, Amy & Jason Posey, Ryan Blocher and Andy Hampton.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St., New Paris, OH with Rev. Kyle Herrmann officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home in New Paris.
