JAMES A. "JIM" KECKLER, age 64, of Richmond, Indiana died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Richmond Municipal Airport. Born on December 12, 1944 in Richmond, Indiana, he was the son of the late Frank B. & R. Grace (McClure) Keckler. Jim graduated in 1963 from Jefferson High School and 1970 from Ohio State University with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sgt. from 1964 to 1968 during the Vietnam War. Jim was a successful accountant for many years, owned and operated Williams & Keckler LLC CPA's of Richmond, Indiana and Eaton, Ohio. Member of Board of Directors for Junior Achievements in Richmond. Past President of the Richmond Jaycees. Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge in New Paris. Member of the Kentucky Colonels. Member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Paris. Jim was an avid pilot and loved to fly and was a member of the Richmond Civil Air Patrol.
Survived by his wife of 44 years, Laura Keckler of Richmond, Indiana; daughter & son-in-law, Carla & Brent Wolfe of Richmond, Indiana and Marcia Keckler of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother & sister-law, Tom & Susan Keckler of Arizona City, Arizona; sister, Susan Lopez of Englewood, Ohio; grandchildren, Amanda Grace Wolfe and Wyatt Walker Wolfe both of Richmond, Indiana; sisters-in-law & spouses, Becky Paul, Paula Sweet, Ellen & Ed Baker, Nancy & Jerry Sexton and Angela Hill & fiancé, Aaron Morman; special friends, Daniel & Ralpha Welbaum; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 23, 2009 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Pastor Pam Weaver officiating. Interment will be held at Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio with Full Military Honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 7:45 P.M. on Thursday, October 22, 2009 and one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be held at 7:45 P.M. on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the funeral home.
