Jacqueline S. “Jackie” Gwin, age 83, of Eaton, Ohio, died Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Maple Gardens in Eaton. She was born on December 19, 1937 in Letcher County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Grant and Hettie (Ison) Smith. Jackie taught school for over 30 years at Twin Valley South in West Alexandria, Ohio and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Camden, Ohio. Jackie loved to devote her time to gardening and reading her bible, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents Jackie was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Logan D. Gwin in 2003; sisters, Rudell Fields, Velma Sparkman, Eunice Kendrick, Janice Smith, and Norma Roark; brother, Vernon Smith and three infant siblings.
She is survived by her son, Craig Gwin; granddaughter, Melinda Gwin and great grandson, Sebastian Petrick; her loving caregiver, Mary Lloyd; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Greg F. Jackson officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you are required to wear a facemask prior to entering the funeral home and practice social distancing.
