Jackie R. Rader

Jackie Ray “Jack” Rader, age 85 of Eaton, Dixon Township, Ohio died Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Vancrest Health Care Center of Eaton. Jack was born on June 3, 1939, in New Paris, Ohio, the son of the late Everett Stanley & Arnetta (Howard) Rader. 

Jack retired in 1999 as a maintenance supervisor for York Casket in Lynn, Indiana, past union president of Upholsters Union #589, and a member of Concord Church. Jack loved working with wood and made many pieces for family and friends. One of his most prized items was his 8n Ford tractor, taking his kids and grandkids for many rides around Dixon township. In his pastime, he loved playing his banjo and guitar. He adored all of his kids, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and was loved and will be missed by all.

Preceded in death by his Wife of 66 years: Katherine R. (Hewitt) Rader in 2024; Daughter: Arnetta K. Heitzman in 2004, Son: Jack S. “Jackie” Rader in 2004 and Grandson: Donald R. Heitzman in 2017; Siblings: James G. Rader in 1996, Myrtle M. Boyd in 1992, Willard B. Rader in 2008, Juanita Sue Gilbert in 1991, Betty Jane Rader in 1950.

Survived by his Children: Delora & Allan Wysong, Rozan & Bob Buchholz, Doris & Matthew Kimbler, Tonda & Jeff Wolfe and William Heitzman, Sr.; Siblings: Linden Rader, Marilyn Gibbs, Carolyn A. Grilliot and Pansy “Marcy” Commons. 15 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews. Cousins and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Concord Church, 2225 Concord Fairhaven Road, Eaton, Ohio. Interment will be held in Concord Cemetery, Dixon Township, Eaton, Ohio.
