JACK E. WILHELM , age 82, of Eaton, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Born on May 5, 1924 in West Manchester, Ohio, he was the son of the late Orville & Mary (Locke) Wilhelm. He graduated in 1943 from West Alexandria High School in West Alexandria, Ohio. Jack proudly served during World War II, building bridges with the Army Corps of Engineers in advance of General George Patton’s troops. After the war he was employed as an electrician by Montford Electric in West Alexandria. In 1950 he became a machine operator for Eaton Screw Products and retired in 1981 after 31 years with Parker Hannifin in Eaton. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed golf, fishing, travel, and gardening. He was a helpful handy man and was always willing to help his family and friends. Jack attended the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Eaton. He is preceded in death by sister: Joan Holman; grandsons: Richard and Robert Ernst and great grandson: Antonio Ochoa.

Survived by wife of almost 60 years: Hilda May (Rowe) Wilhelm; daughters and son-in-law: Rebecca Lynn and Robert Scott of Richmond, Indiana and Dee Louise Wilhelm of Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming; sister: Jane Buckingham of West Alexandria, Ohio; grandchildren: Mike and Melissa Ernst, Jacki and Darrell Wilson, Jennifer Ochoa, David and Leigh Anne Ernst, and Amy Scott; great grandchildren: Rebecca, Miranda, Tyler, Mikayla, Ericka, Katherine, Andrew and Joseph.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2006 at Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Steve Cann officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton. Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 15, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
