Hubert E. Clark

HUBERT E. "BUZZ" CLARK, 88, of Eaton, Ohio, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Reid Hospital and Health Care Services in Richmond, Indiana. He was born on February 10, 1920 in Eaton, Ohio, the son of the late Orion S. and Bertha E. (Bresher) Clark. He was a 1938 graduate of Eaton High School and attended Earlham College. In 1965 he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and in 1972 he received his Masters degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He retired in 1984 after 23 years teaching Special Education in the Eaton City School District and had taught for five years in the West Elkton building of the Preble Shawnee School District. He was a Washington Township Trustee for 28 years. Member of the Eaton Church of Christ, 50 year member of the Bolivar Lodge # 82 F & AM in Eaton, the Ohio Township Association, the Preble County Retired Teachers Association and past member of the Preble County Fair Board where he was instrumental in promoting and strengthening the speed program at the Preble County Fair. He was also an active member to the U.S. Trotting Association, where he served as the presiding judge at local horse racing programs.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers, Stanley Clark in 1989 and Forrest W. Clark in 1987.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth J. (Hecathorn) Clark; sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen H. & Patricia Clark of West Chester, Ohio and Rodger B. & Karen Clark of Eaton, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah & James Clark Holloway of St Petersburg, Florida; grandchildren, Amy L. (Cory) Clapsaddle, Elizabeth A. (Michael) Harding, Brian S. Clark, Daryl Clark Holloway, Samuel Clark Holloway, Eleanor Clark Holloway, Ryan W. Clark, Meghan N. Clark and Nathan B. Clark. Five great grandchildren. Numerous nephews, nieces, & cousins.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Eaton United Church of Christ, 113 West Decatur Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Philip Johnson and Rev Larry Ganger officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio and one hour prior to the service at the church. Masonic services will be held, Tuesday, at 7:00 p.m at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Eaton United Church of Christ, 113 W. Decatur St., Eaton, Ohio 45320.
