Hilda Stout

HILDA STOUT, age 85, of Elida, Ohio and formerly of Eaton and St. Mary’s Ohio, died Friday, April 6, 2007 at the home of her daughter. Born on November 24, 1921 in Eaton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. & Mary E. (Galloway) Stephens. She retired in 1978 as a floral designer in the Eaton and Brookville, Ohio area. She was a 1940 graduate of Eaton High School and attended the Central Business College in Indiana. A member of Four Mile Church of the Brethren and a 50 year member and Past Matron (1958, 1966 and 1977) of Gleaners Chapter #182 Order of Eastern Star. She also was a past Grand Rep to the State of Wyoming - Eastern Star. Preceded in death by Husband: John F. Stout in 1988; Sister: June Peters in 2006.

Survived by Daughter & Son-in-law: Jane & Robert Layman, Elida, Ohio; Sister: Doris Mettert Tillson, Richmond, IN; Brother: Jack Stephens, Storrs, CT; Grandchildren: Philip & Davina Layman, Eric & Kelly Layman, 5 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 - 11:00 a.m. at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH wtih Rev. Charles E. Rinehart officiating. Interment will be in the Preble Memory Gardens at West Alexandria, OH. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Eastern Star service at 6:45 p.m.
