Herbert Curtis Ashcraft, age 87, of Beverly Hills, MI since 1952, formerly of the Camden/Somerville area died Thursday, August 3, 2006 in Royal Oak, Michigan. Born on June 6, 1919 in Kentucky son of the late John W. and Bertha Ashcraft. Herbert attended school in a one room school house while growing up in Kentucky. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army Company E 141st Infantry 36th Division. Herbert was the owner of Hi-Way Collision in Birmingham form 1948 to 2005. He was a Mason, a long time donor to the Salvation Army and an avid and lucky card player. He also loved to read and was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers. A devoted family man, Herbert was concerned about the care and education of his family.

Survived by his wife of 66 years: Martha (Jenkins) Ashcraft. Sons and daughters-in-law: Herbert Curtis Ashcraft, Jr. of Birmingham, MI, Gary & Joan of Birmingham, MI, William Dale & Laurie Ashcraft of Chicago, IL. Sisters: Mary Gibson of Hamilton, OH, Goldie Huber of TN. Sister-in-law: Delphia Ashcraft of Jacksonville, FL. Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 - 11:00a.m. at Nein - Barnes Funeral Home, 249 North Main Street, Camden, Ohio. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in Somerville Cemetery in Somerville, OH with Full military graveside services by the Preble County Honor Guard. Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of donor’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family via Guest Book at www.barnesfuneralhome.com
