HELEN FLORENCE SWINK, age 91, entered into eternal life on November 25, 2005. She was born on October 7, 1914 in Richmond, Indiana. The second of eleven children born to William and Myrl (Eadler) Blue. Helen graduated from Fountain City High School in Fountain City Indiana. In 1937 Helen married Harold Kenneth Swink. They made their home in Richmond, Indiana and became the parents of three children, Charles William, Jon Kenton and Rebecca Lynn. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1957 and raised their family. In 1971 Helen retired from Sperry Rand and moved to Berryville, Arkansas to live the good life in the country with her husband Harold. She stayed on the farm after her husbands passing in 1979 and was active in her church, Metalton United Baptist Church and the Berryville Hospital Auxillary, working in the gift shop and knitting booties and caps for the newborns. She took painting classes and became quite a good painter. Her son Jon and his wife Linda and their three children moved to Arkansas in 1980 to be near Helen and continue to reside in Arkansas. In June of 1995 her health became an issue and Helen moved into the town of Berryville and attended the Church of Christ. In November of 2004 she moved back to Phoenix in the home of her daughter and son-in-law Michael Tamboli where she made many new friends and lived out the final year of her life.
Preceding her into glory are her husband Harold, son Charles, brothers, Edward, William and Richard and sisters Virginia and Rhea. Those surviving are her son Jon and his wife Linda and their children Cheryl(Kevin) Turner, Tina Schuh and Lisa (Donnie) Parsons and Seven Great grandchildren. Daughter, Rebecca and her husband Mike and their children Anthony( Rebecca) Tamboli and Tonia Tamboli and one Great grandchild on the way. Also surviving are brothers Franklin and Donald Blue and sisters Opal Cartwright, Barbara Doan and Jeanine Schlosser and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, December 3, 2005 at Barnes Funeral Home - 411 North Commerce Street - Lewisburg, Ohio with Pastor Barbara Sweigart officiating. Interment will be held in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 3, 2005 from 11:00am to12:00pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Valley-13620 N. 55th Ave.-Glendale, Arizona 85304 or to the Lives under Construction Boys Ranch Inc.-296 Boys Ranch Rd.-Lampe, MO 65681.
