Harold H. Doty

HAROLD H. DOTY, age 94, of Eaton, Ohio, died December 22, 2007 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Born on January 27, 1913 in Milton, Indiana, the son of the late Ernest W. & Elma Blanche (Hale) Doty. A 1931 Milton High School graduate, he retired from Parker - Hannifin in Eaton in 1978. Long time member of the Prices Creek Church of the Brethren, WW II U.S. Army veteran served in Battery “D” 134 AAA Gun Battalion during the Battle of the Bulge, and member of the Clarence Teaford Post #360 American Legion in New Paris. Preceded in death by Son: Gary Lee Doty in 1986; Sister: Dorothy Doty.

Survived by wife of 68 years: Ruth G. (Strothman) Doty; Son & daughter-in-law: Kevin & Cindy Doty, Huntsville, Alabama. Daughter-in-law: Jan Doty of Williamsburg, Indiana. Grandchildren: Renee Doty of Williamsburg, Indiana, Brian (Michelle) Doty of Richmond, Kentucky and Gina Waddle of New Paris, Ohio. Great Grandchildren: Campbell and Matthew Doty, Chloe and Brenden Waddle.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 - 11:00 a.m. at Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Don King & Rev. Dean Garrett officiating. Interment will be held in Goshen Cemetery, Richmond, Indiana with military honors by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 4 - 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
