HAROLD E. SPITZER, age 86 of Richmond, IN, died Friday, February 27, 2009 in Richmond, IN. Born on July 26, 1922 in Bent County, Colorado, he was the son of the late Eli F. And Eva Marie (Colebourn) Spitzer. Harold had worked for Truss Joist in Boise, Idaho. He sang in the church choir and barbershop quartet at the Nampa Church of the Brethren in Nampa, ID and attended the Richmond Church of the Brethren. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. Preceded in death by Brothers: Lloyd & Robert Spitzer; Sister: Mary M. Chatham.

Survived by Wife of 57 years: Clara Ruth (Huston) Spitzer; Daughter & Son-in-law: Susan & Martin Ekwealor, Richmond, IN; Brothers: Edwin, Clyde, Richard and Harry Spitzer; Sisters: Thelma J. Schibbelhut, Lola G. McElroy and Norma L. Boggio. 8 Grandchildren: Tobe Jennifer Ekwealor, Nkeiruka Joan Ekwealor, Somi David Ekwealor, Nwadi Mark Ekwealor, Eze James Ekwealor, Oge Ruthanne Ekwealor, Arinze Daniel Ekwealor and Vincent Ejimovo Ekwealor. Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Richmond Church of the Brethren - 1 SW 17th Street - Richmond, Indiana with Rev. Matt McKimmy and Rev. Stan VanAusdal officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio. Interment will be held in McClave Cemetery, McClave, Bent County, Colorado on Wednesday, March 11, 2009.
