Harold E. Coblentz

HAROLD E. COBLENTZ, age 85, of New Paris, OH, died Saturday April 18, 2009 at Reid Hospital and Health Care Services in Richmond, IN. Born on September 16, 1923 in Preble County OH, he was the son of the late Walter C. & Cecil Jane (Brown) Coblentz. He was a 1941 graduate of Jefferson Township High School, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, retired from Belden Electronic Wire and Cable on December 6, 1983 after 30 years of service, Jefferson Township farmer and cattleman, American Legion Post #360 at New Paris, OH, Whitewater Christian Church member, Elder and Sunday school teacher. Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Martha E. (Hume) Coblentz on May 14, 1994. Brothers, Verlin Duane Coblentz in 1960 and Frederick Coblentz in 1932. Sister, Doris H. Coblentz in 1935.

He is survived by sons & daughters-in-law, Charles T. & Connie Coblentz and William D. & Carman Coblentz of Cleveland, TN and Robert E. & Michele Coblentz of Wilmington, OH. Brother, Donald Coblentz of New Paris, OH. Sister, Loretta Brown of New Paris, OH. Five grandchildren, Grady, Adam, Clifford and Bill Coblentz and Martha Lawson. Five great grandchildren, Amber, Will and Wyatt Coblentz and Michael and Matthew Lawson. Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio with Brother Larry Girdwood officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery at New Paris, OH with full Military Graveside Services provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
