Gordon E. Flora

Gordon E. Flora, 83, of Camden, OH died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, OH. Born on June 20, 1932 in Camden, OH he was the son of the late Orville & Hazel (Woltz) Flora. Gordon was a 1950 Camden High School graduate. He retired in 1971 after 20 years in the U.S. Navy. He served with the City of Eaton Police Department, the Eaton Emergency Squad, Preble County Sheriff's Department and the West Elkton Police Department. He also served as a Village of Camden Council Member and as Camden Mayor. He was a member of American Legion Post 215 of Eaton. Preceded in death by his 1st wife: Irene Flora; son: Alexander Flora; brothers: Roger Flora and Charles Flora.

Survived by his wife: Janet (Withrow) Miller; daughter & son-in-law: Diana & Vaughn Oburn of Eaton, OH; son & daughter-in-law: Jonathan & Deborah Flora of Northridge, CA; brother: Kenneth Flora of Miamisburg, OH; sisters: Naomi Tapalman of Camden, OH and Carol Tharaldson of Tyrone, PA; step-children: Kevin Miller of Camden, OH; Kristy Wuest of Hamilton, OH; Kathy Dicken of West College Corner, IN and Kerri Kriz of New Castle, IN; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Nein-Barnes Funeral Home – 249 North Main Street – Camden, OH. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, August 27, 2015 with Rev. Dr. Greg Jackson officiating at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Camden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project - P.O.
