Gloria C. Gaston

GLORIA C. GASTON, age 83, of Eaton, Ohio, died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Born on June 12, 1924 in Dugger, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late William Floyd & Golda Blanche (Carr) Carrico. Gloria graduated in 1942 from Sullivan High School in Sullivan, Indiana. She was a member of the boosters club at Sullivan High School. On August 22, 1946, she married her true love, high school sweetheart, and eventual life long companion Elver D. Gaston of Fairbanks, Indiana. She was known for her undying devotion to her family and unselfish compassion for others, most often considering herself as least important. A loving and nurturing wife and mother, graciously dedicating her entire life to properly raising her family and providing them with a wonderful home. She found great joy in such things as, tinkering in her beautiful gardens, mastering a daily crossword puzzle or skillfully conjuring up a wondrously delicious meal in her own kitchen. Her sincerest wishes for each of her children to be healthy, happy, self reliant and successful became her most cherished reality. Having no known enemies, vices or convictions against others, she was a welcome friend to all who knew her. Our beloved Gloria will surely be missed by all of us... May God rest her dear sweet soul.

Preceded in death by her brother, William Floyd Carrico, Jr. in 2004

Survived by her husband of 62 years: Elver D. Gaston of Eaton, Ohio; children & spouses, Cheri Gaston of Eaton, Ohio, Janis & Cory Stophlet of Eaton, Ohio, Duane Gaston of Lexington, Kentucky, Sheila Gaston of Elizabeth, Colorado, Doug & Lana Gaston of Yellow Springs, Ohio, and Darryl Gaston of Eaton, Ohio; granddaughter, Stacy Gaston of Miamisburg, Ohio; Three great grandchildren; sister & brother-in-law, Shirley & Hugh "Curty" Hunt of Brazil, Indiana; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
