Glenna M. Tobias Spencer, age 85, of Eaton, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton, Ohio. Born on May 2, 1920 in Champaign County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Pearl Donald & Nora Ethel (Tipton) Hurd. She graduated from Jackson High School (Preble County, Ohio) in 1938. She retired in 1982 after 25 years as kitchen manager at East Elementary for Eaton City Schools. She was a member of Club 18 & the local Square Dancing Club. Preceded in death by her 1st husband: Woodrow W. Tobias in 1972; 2nd husband: Denzil M. Spencer in 1996; son: Donald W. Tobias in 1959; brothers: David T. Hurd in 1955 and Donald R. Hurd in 1995; sisters: Mary E. Hurd in 1950 and F. Louise Allison in 2003.
Survived by sons & daughter-in-laws: W. Joseph “Joe” & Shirley Tobias and Albert “Lee” & Carla Tobias all of Eaton, Ohio; sisters: Martha Ellison of West Manchester, Ohio and Nora Irene Dyer of Underwood, Indiana; 8 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Service will be Friday, December 9, 2005 - 2:00 pm at Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Family will receive friends on Friday, December 9, 2005 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton - 324 Wilmington Ave. - Dayton, Ohio 45420 or Eaton Baptist Temple - 416 East Decatur Street - Eaton, Ohio 45320.
