Glenn W. "Bill" Dershem, age 89, of Eaton, OH, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. Glenn was born in Preble County, OH on March 27, 1925 to the late Aaron & Bertha (Bridget) Dershem. Glenn had worked for many years at Cox Supermarket in Richmond, IN. Glenn proudly served in the US Navy and was a member of the USS Iowa Veterans Association. Member of the Masonic Lodge in Eaton, OH. Member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Eaton, OH. Preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Boyer, Maxine Curtis, Caroline Stewart and Phyllis Etzler.
Survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty L. (Maier) Dershem of Eaton, OH; son, Max Dershem of Racine, WI; daughters, Lynette Dershem of Eaton, OH and Tanitha Brewington of Bowling Green, KY; sisters, Janet Woltz of Cambridge, OH and Ruth Puterbaugh of Greenville, OH; brother, Lewis Dershem of Richmond, IN; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Dr. S. Ryan) Faught of Owensboro, KY; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Grace Lutheran Church, 111 Lutheran Drive, Eaton, Ohio with Pastor Warren Reichert officiating. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Highlands Cemetery in Covington, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 10:30 am on Saturday at the church prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church, 111 Lutheran Drive, Eaton, Ohio 45320. Arrangements Entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home in Eaton, Ohio.
