Glen R Root

Glen R Root, 87, of Lewisburg, OH, died Friday, July 27, 2018 in Greenville, OH. Born on March 17, 1931 in New Lebanon, OH, he was the son of the late Russel A. & Martha L. (Tapalman) Root. Glen retired after 30 years from Delco Moraine in Dayton. He was a member of the Civitan Club in Lewisburg and had served on Town Council in the 1980’s.

Preceded in death by his Wife: Billie F. (Carter) Root in 2000; Daughter: Linda Jane Root in 1959; Siblings: Betty Eileen Schmidt in 2014, Glenora R Wolfe in 2013 and Eugene Alton Root in 1934.

Survived by Daughters: Susan (Brian) Hershey and Stephanie (Gary) Gibson; Brother: Kenneth Root; 7 Grandchildren: Matthew Hershey, Megan Hershey, Zach (Christina) Gibson, Emily Gibson, Meredith (Chris) Armentrout, Kinsey Gibson and Olivia Gibson. Nieces and Nephews. 

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, OH with his grandson Zach officiating. Interment will be held in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria, OH. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
