Gilvie Mitchell Brown

Gilvie Mitchell Brown, age 46 of New Paris, OH passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Richmond, IN due to complications from Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy. Born on December 4, 1967 in Richmond, IN, son of William "Gilvie" & Dorothy "Dottie" M. (Nelson) Brown. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1986 to 1994. Member of the American Legion, Post 360 in New Paris, OH.

Preceded in death by his father, William "Gilvie" Brown in 2007.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy "Dottie" M. Brown of New Paris, OH; brothers, Tony (Beth) Brown of Cambridge, OH and Max (Colleen) Brown of Tipp City, OH; sister, Holly Toschlog of Lakeland, FL; nieces & nephews, Marissa (Trent) Yoder, Nicholas (Kate) Toschlog, Anthony Brown, Hannah Toschlog and Allison Brown; great nephew, Garrett Brown; numerous, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St., New Paris, OH 45347 with Rev. Julia Hemeyer officiating. Interment will be held at Springlawn Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home in New Paris.
