George Fudge, Jr. age 79, of New Paris, Ohio died Tuesday, April 15, 2003 from injuries after a tree fell on him at his residence. Born on November 13, 1923 in Preble County, Ohio he was the son of the late George M. & Minnie E. (Tellis) Fudge. He was a 1941 Eaton High School graduate and served with the U.S. Marines during W.W. II. In 1977 he retired from Eaton Gear Works in Richmond, Indiana after 18 years of services and was a Jefferson Township Farmer. Member of the V.M.B. # 614 U.S.M.C.; American Legion Post 665 of West Manchester, Ohio; AmVets #726 of Eldorado, Ohio; Gettysburg Sportsman Club and attended the Eldorado United Methodist Church.
Survived by Wife of 56 years: Geraldine G. (Pope) Fudge; Son: George Joseph Fudge of New Paris, Ohio; Grandson & Wife: George Michael & Jennifer R. Fudge of Eldorado, Ohio; Great Grandchildren: George Noah Fudge and Autumn G. Fudge. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2003 - 11:00 A.M (Ohio Time) at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio with Rev. LaDonna Clary officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris with full military graveside services. Family will receive friends on Friday, April 18, 2003 from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. (Ohio Time) at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity. He was loved by many hunting, fishing, and veteran friends and will be missed by all.
