George F. Cummings

GEORGE F. CUMMINGS, age 90, of Somerville, OH most of his life and Oxford, OH the past six years, died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Hospice of Hamilton, OH. Born on February 17, 1918 in Miles City, MT, he was the son of the late Byron & Esther (Korper) Cummings. George had worked at Pease Woodworking and retired from Hamilton Tool in 1983, both at Hamilton, OH. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Camden and had taught Sunday school for over fifty years. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 54 years, Sallie (Asher) Cummings on June 24, 2000.

Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Rev Fred B. & Margie Cummings of Pineville, KY, daughters and sons-in-law, Esther J. & Jeff Howard of Villa Hills, KY, Lena M. & Tim Fritzsche of Oxford, OH, Barbara A. & Murph Byrne of Chesapeake, VA. Ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the First Southern Baptist Church, 35 North Liberty Street, Camden, OH with Rev Greg F. Jackson and Rev Fred B. Cummings officiating. Interment will be held in Butler County Memorial Park near Trenton, OH. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the church and one hour prior to the service at the church.
