George Egbert Pugh

GEORGE EGBERT PUGH, age 99, of Louisville, Tennessee, formerly of New Paris, Ohio died on Monday, January 9, 2017 in Maryville, Tennessee. Born on June 12, 1917 in Montpelier, Indiana, son of the late Otto A. & Mattie M. (Tharp) Pugh. George worked at Wayne Dairy in Richmond, Indiana for 34 years, of which he spent many years delivering milk door to door by horse and wagon.

Preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Frances (Kessler) Pugh in 2012; son, Bernard Lee "Buddy" Pugh in 2013; sisters, Chella Pugh in 1899, Daisy Otis in 1984, Edythe Hartmann in 1986, Jennie Morrical in 2005 and Mary Smith in 1980; brothers, Everett C. Pugh in 1976, Earl H. Pugh in 1984, Charles Pugh in 1993 and Russell Pugh in 1995; granddaughter, Tammy Irene Pugh in 1963.

Survived by children, Bill (Jean) Pugh of Richmond, Indiana, Bob (Anne) Pugh of Carolina Beach, North Carolina and Ben (Chris) Pugh of Louisville, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 24 great great grandchildren; 1 great great great grandchild; treasured nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2017 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St., New Paris, OH with Rev. John Parks officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
