Geneva Via Mcadams

Geneva "Via" McAdams, 96, of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Genesis Health Care in New Lebanon, OH. Born on April 14, 1920 in Preble County, OH she was the daughter of the late Frank & Mertie (Oswalt) Via. Geneva worked at Rike's and Lazarus Department Store in Dayton from 1980 to 1998. She was a member of the Lewisburg United Church of Christ; Worthy Matron two years for the Ideal Chapter #293 Ohio Eastern Star of Lewisburg and the Deputy Grand Matron of Grand Chapter of Ohio District #19 in 1954.

Preceded in death by husband: Edwin R. McAdams in 1984; Brother: Arthur Via in 1925; sisters: Grace Hyre, Iva Flory and Mildred Stutz.

Survived by nieces: Betty L. (Vic) Doner of Lewisburg, OH and Shirley Young of Greenville, OH. Nephew: Phillip (Judy) Stutz of Arcanum, OH; great nephew: Kerry Doner of New Lebanon, OH.

Family will receive friends 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Barnes Funeral Home 411 North Commerce Street – Lewisburg, OH with the funeral service to be held 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. David Justis officiating. Interment will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery – West Alexandria, OH.
