Garvin E. Lawson

Garvin E. Lawson, age 79, of New Paris, Ohio died Monday, November 1, 2004 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio after falling at his home on Saturday. Born on June 28, 1925 in Campton, Wolfe County, KY. he was the son of the late Ova Lee & June (Peck) Lawson. In 1988 he retired from Hoffco Corp. of Richmond after 15 years service. Member of First Gospel Baptist Church of New Paris. Preceded in death by Grandson: Joey Lawson in 1989; Sister: Alta Shaffer and Brother: Ova Lawson.

Survived by Betty Kerns Lawson of New Paris, Ohio; Sons & Daughters-in-law: Garvin E. & Theresa Lawson, Jr. and Jack L. & Rena Lawson both of New Paris, Ohio, Steve C. & Nancy Lawson of Eldorado, Ohio; Daughter & Son-in-law: Margaret J. & David Kelly of West Manchester, Ohio; Brother: Orville Lee Lawson of Lewisburg, Ohio. 10 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2004 - 1:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio with Rev. Gilmer Smith officiating. Entombment will be in Royal Oak Memorial Gardens - Brookville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
