Fred E. Werner

FRED E. WERNER, age 68, of Verona, OH, died Saturday June 20, 2009 at Vandalia Park Nursing Home in Vandalia, OH. Born on August 6, 1940 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Karl Y. & Glenna (Zimmerman) Werner. Preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Brown, niece, Cindy Brown & nephew, Rick Brown.

He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton; retired from Dayton Power and Light with over 30 years of service; served over 20 years as Police Chief of Verona; member F.O.P , NRA, Kentucky Colonel and Verona United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra Marlene (Rice) Werner. Sons and daughter in law, Greg E. Werner of Covington, OH, William J. & Gail Werner of Lewisburg, OH and John E. Werner of Verona, OH. Grandsons, Brandon, Anthony, Corey, Nelson and Joseph Werner, Christopher Rutherford. Granddaughters, Jerrica and Kyrea Werner. Great grandsons, Gabriel Werner and soon to arrive Jayden A. Werner. Aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 24, 2009 at Verona United Methodist Church with Pastor Rod Brower officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Royal Oak Memorial Gardens at Brookville, OH.
