Everett J. Gilbert

EVERETT J. “AB” GILBERT, 84, of Eaton, OH died Friday, October 15, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on May 17, 1926 in West Alexandria, Ohio son of the late Frank Emerson and Susie Francis (Eck) Gilbert. He attended West Alexandria Schools and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In 1970 he established Gilbert Concrete Products and in 1986 it became Camden Concrete Products. He was a member of the American Legion Post #215 in Eaton and the Concord United Church of Christ near Eaton. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, John Michael Gilbert in 1977; sister Clara Belle Strickler and brothers, Clyde, James Fred, Donald R. and Aaron Gilbert.


Survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia L. (Howell) Gilbert; daughter, Terri L. Sebree of Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Anna Marie Kimblerlain of Elizabethtown, Ky, and Helen Novak of New Lebanon, Ohio; brother, Thomas Frank Gilbert of Eaton; grandchildren, Rachel Michele(Ryan) Groff of Troy, Ohio, Elizabeth Anne, Rebecca Rose, Daniel Everett and Nathan Josiah Sebree of Dayton, Ohio; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Concord United Church of Christ, 2225 Concord-Fairhaven Rd., Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Ron Foulk officiating. Interment will be held in Concord Cemetery, across from the church with full military honors performed by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends Monday, October 18, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, OH and one hour prior to the service at the church.
