Eugene Miller Paxson

EUGENE MILLER PAXSON, age 88 of Gratis, OH, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at his residence. Born on September 12, 1917 in Twin Twp., Preble County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Weldon Allen & Golda Mae (Miller) Paxson. He was a 1935 Lanier High School graduate and had served in the Army Air Force during WW II. He was a Gratis Twp. farmer from 1945 - 1964 and had retired after 16 years from United Color Press in Dayton, Ohio. A Life Member of American Legion Post #665 in West Manchester, Ohio and member of the Gratis Lions Club and Preble County Farm Bureau. Preceded in death by Brothers: Wilson Allen Paxson in 1972 and Paul Herschel Paxson in 1995.

Survived by Wife of 65 years: Marcella E. (Via) Paxson; Sons & Daughters-in-law: Gary Eugene Paxson, Eaton, OH, David Wayne & Trish Paxson, Knoxville, TN, Dennis Lee & Marie Paxson, Corona, CA; 6 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at the convenience of the family in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg, Ohio with Pastor Brent L. Cavendish officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Preble County Honor Guard.
