Eugene C. Burns

EUGENE C. BURNS, 102 of Eaton, Ohio died Friday, March 15, 2013 at his residence. Eugene was born on August 23, 1910 in Jefferson Township, Montgomery County, Ohio the son of the late Charles Emory & Vinnie Mae (Holderman) Burns. Eugene was a 1928 graduate of Jefferson Township High School and retired in 1975 from NCR following 35 years of dedicated service. He had also worked at Delco and Dayton Tire both in Dayton, Ohio. Prior to returning to Eaton in 2011 Eugene made his home in Winona Lake, Indiana, Dayton, Ohio and Bradenton, Florida where he was a member of the Grace Brethren Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jessie Viola (Kalter) Burns in 2000; brothers and sisters, Elmer Burns, Orville Robert Burns, Nora A. Kline, an infant, Esther Krug and Marion E. Burns; son-in-law, Richard L. "Tex" Miller in 2006 and grandsons, Gregory Miller and Robert Burns.

Eugene is survived by his son, Daniel E. Burns of Monona, Iowa; twin daughters, Judith N. Davidson of Bradenton, Florida and June K. Miller of Eaton; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio 45320 with Chaplain Lyle Beal officiating. Interment will be held in Lower Miami Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
