Emmalene Bradley

On Monday, April 9th, 2012 Clarice "Emmalene" (Nichols) Bradley, age 71, of Camden was loosed from this temporal life into the eternal presence and embrace of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born on March 25th, 1941 in Adams County, OH, she was the daughter of Ray and Edith (Shafer) Nichols. She grew up in the Adams County area, graduating from Peebles High School. She later married Robert Bradley. They shared over 53 years of marriage. Their union was blessed with three children; Sherrie, Robert Lee, Jr. and Rhonda. Emmalene and Bob moved to the Hamilton area early in their marriage and eventually made their home in Preble County.

She was a dedicated homemaker and her family was her heartbeat. A longtime member of Calvary Christian Center, she loved her pastors and church family. She enjoyed cooking for outreach ministry to the homeless and elderly shut-ins. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. Her creative talents inspired a nativity scene, which became a growing family project and a blessing to the Camden area for years. She was also known for her quality work as a seamstress and her self-taught skills in upholstering furniture. Typically a quiet, unassuming lady, Emmalene was known to startle her family with her leaps and shouts while watching either the Cincinnati Reds or her grandchildren play ball.

She loved the Word of God and prayer. Her most recent focus was reading the book of Psalms and intensified prayer for her family. Her walk with God enabled her to wage a brave 4 year battle against ovarian cancer. She would want everyone to remember that she didn't lose that battle. She more than conquered, through Jesus, and is even now celebrating that victory.

She will be missed in this life by her husband, Robert Bradley, Sr., of Camden, her daughter, Sherrie Neal, of Hamilton, her son and daughter-in-law, Bob (Veronda) Bradley, also of Hamilton and her daughter, Rhonda Bradley, of Camden; grandchildren, Gabe (Pat), Janna, Jared (Whitney), Leigh Anne, Brandon, Tim, Ty, Tanner, Abby and Ashlynn; great grandchildren, Taylor, Seth, Baby Emma, Karmen, Gracie and Kennedy; sister, Sharon (Don) Piatt; aunt, Dorothy Grooms, all of West Union; nephews, nieces, cousins and other dear family members, her church family and a host of other friends.

Visitation will be Friday, April 13th, 2012 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Calvary Christian Center, 2355 Jacksonburg Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011. A home going celebration will follow at 1:00 with Pastors Jim and Diane Mullins officiating and Pastor Larry Davidson, of Christ Commission Temple in Camden, also participating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Camden. Online condolences may be sent to www.barnesfuneralhome.com.
