Elinor E. Somers

ELINOR E. SOMERS, 88, of Eaton, OH, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton. Born on August 20, 1921 in Farmersville, OH, she was the daughter of the late Charles Christopher & Carrie (Roof) Storer. Elinor was a R.N. and had worked for Dr. Charles McKinley in Camden for 20 years, Reid Hospital in Richmond and Heartland of Cedar Springs. A 1939 West Alexandria High School graduate and Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. Member of Concord United Church of Christ and D.A.R.

Preceded in death by Husband: Carl E. "Jake" Somers in 2001; Son: Michael Carl Somers in 1987; Granddaughter: Autumn Swan in 1990; Sister: Florence Wehrley; Brothers: Harold, Keith & George Storer.

Survived by Daughter & Son-in-law: Ellen M. Somers & David E. Dillman, Eaton, OH; Former Daughter-in-law: Nancy Finkbeiner, Saline, MI; Sisters: Jane Smith, Eaton, OH, Lois Baughman, West Alexandria, OH; Brothers: Hugh (Joyce) Storer, Eaton, OH, Paul (Josie) Storer, Richmond, IN, Loren (Eunice) Storer, Houston, TX, Stanley (Vangie) Storer, Edinburg, TX; Granddaughter: Meaghan S. Swan.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Ron Foulk officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. Family will receive friends on Friday, August 20, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
