Edward "Buddy" S. Utley

Edward S. “Buddy” Utley, age 87 of Dayton, Ohio, died on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Kettering Health Dayton. Born on June 30, 1937 in Harlan, Kentucky, son of the late Dewey J. & Rosa Lee (Lawson) Utley.

Buddy had been a truck driver for 50 years and worked for Zumstein Trucking and had driven well over 3 million miles across the country. Avid Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed watching wrestling but at the end of the day family was most important.

Preceded by his 1st wife, Barbara Helen Utley; 2nd wife, Marsha Utley; daughters, Martha Ann Utley and Judy Kay Gardner; stepson, Gary Worley; brothers, Alvin Utley James Austin Utley, William Roscoe Utley and Elbert Utley; sister, Grace Geneva Richardson.

Survived by his sons & daughters-in-law, Edward G. & Jennifer Utley and Jessee R. & Michelle Utley; daughters & sons-in-law, Beverly J. & Ronald Cooper and Barbie & Jeffery Hawk; stepson, Craig Worley; brother & sister-in-law, Garland & Bobbie Utley; sister, Anna Lou Miracle; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday, March 14, 2025 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, Ohio. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Friday prior to the funeral.
