Edsel C. Brooks

Edsel C. "Ed" Brooks, Sr., 84, of Eaton, OH died Sunday, June 14, 2015 in Eaton. Born on April 22, 1931 in Marion County, WV, he was the son of the late Harry John & Goldie Mae (Trippett) Brooks. Ed retired after 30 years of public school teaching for Eaton City Schools and was a member of the Eaton United Methodist Church. He earned his BA Degree from Fairmont State College and his MA Degree from Miami University of Ohio and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by his siblings: Goldie Zane Pentecost, Shirley R. Thompson, Sarah Logan, Norma Jane Dunham, Frank, Walter and James Brooks and Mary Eleanor Hastings.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Patricia B. (Looman) Brooks; children: Sabrina Darlene (Charles) Blair, Boonsboro, MD, Edsel Carl (Pam) Brooks, Jr., Waynesville, OH, Rachel Colleen (Charles) Garwood, Canby, OR; John Malcolm (Rebecca) Brooks, O'Fallon, MO; sister: Zelma Harms of MD.11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Eaton United Methodist Church, 120 North Maple St., Eaton, OH. The family will receive friends from 3 – 5 P.M. prior to the service.
