E. Clay Huddleston, 82, of Richmond, IN, died Monday, October 31, 2016 at his residence. Born on September 1, 1934 in Pocahontas, AR, he was the son of the late Orval Clyde & Avis Ann (Shipp) Huddleston. He was a truck driver for Howard Sober in Springfield, OH, retiring after 24 years of service and receiving membership in the Million Mile Club. His CB handle was Red Rose. Music was his life. Clay started three Jamborees, Arkansas, St. Louis and in 1984 started the Midwest Jamboree in New Paris. After retiring, he was a disc jockey for WECI at Earlham College where he hosted Clay's Country Classics for 10 years.
Survived by his wife, together for 40 years: Marissa (Brutans) Huddleston; Children: Clay Huddleton, Jr, Cindy (John) Stover, Dean (Kim) Smith, Mike Smith, Lisa (Tim) Orrill and Myreta (Bill) Killen; Twin Brother: Ray (Jo) Huddleston; Sister: Betty Durbin. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by his son: Tim Huddleston and daughter: Dorothy "Cricket" Green.
Family will receive friends on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, OH with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris.
