Doyle Gay “Dolly” (Cheatham) Bair, age 68, of Camden, Ohio, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Fort Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio.
She was born on February 23, 1955 in Middletown, Ohio, daughter of David M. & Mabel (Moore) Cheatham. She married the love of her life, Richard Bair, in December of 1972 after a whirlwind romance that started at the West Elkton carnival.
She graduated from Franklin High School in 1973. She attended the West Elkton Methodist Church. Throughout her life, she had several jobs from working for different lawyers in Springboro, Marsh Grocery in Franklin, selling Avon, sewing at Clifton Shirt Company in Eaton, working at Bair Insurance in West Elkton and selling cheerleading clothing for various companies. Her most favorite responsibility was being a mom and grandmother. Family was everything to her. She loved nothing more than for everyone to stop by and her to cook for them.
Dolly never met a stranger and had many people she considered a friend. She loved helping others. She started Together on Tuesdays which fed senior citizens each week. She always looked for ways to help and donate to worthy causes and never wanted any recognition in return.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Bair; father, David M. Cheatham; sister Jane E. Glossip; niece, Amy Cheatham.
Survived by her children, Heather (Harvey) Campbell and Matthew Bair all of Camden, Ohio; grandchildren, Kaylie, Dylan and Garrett Campbell, Taylor and Mady Bair; mother, Mabel Cheatham of Camden, Ohio; brother, Ray (Angie) Cheatham of Middletown, Ohio; sister, Debbie (Rick) Thompson of Eubank, Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Salli (Rick) Corrington of Camden, Ohio and Belinda Bair of Maryland; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
