Douglas Elam

Douglas "Doug" Elam, age 61 of West Elkton, Ohio departed from family & friends to a better life on Monday, October 13, 2014. He was born on January 21, 1953 in Trenton, Michigan, son of the late Douglas Edwin & Elizabeth (Blair) Elam. Doug was a welder and had worked for Dupps in Germantown, Ohio for 20 years. Member of the West Elkton Church of Christ in West Elkton, Ohio. Doug liked Fishing, Metal Detecting, Mowing Grass, and Tinkering in the Garage. Doug especially enjoyed playing cards with Tim, Pat & Diane every day and bragging when he and Tim won.

Preceded in death by his Father, Douglas Edwin Elam in 1975; Mother Elizabeth (Blair) Elam in 1992; Sister, Carol Williams in 1995; Father-in-law & Mother-in-law, Ralph & Betty Edwards.

Survivors include his loving Wife of 28 years, Diane (Edwards) Elam of West Elkton, Ohio; Children, Doug (Renee) Elam of Franklin, Ohio, David (Kathy) Elam of Middletown, Ohio and Linda (Robbie) Lakes of Montpelier, Ohio; Grandchildren, Ashley, Liana, Stephen, Samantha, Chelsey (Austin), Alanna, Timmy, and Kamryn; Great Grandchildren, Daniel, Brenda, Kado, Easten, Karter and Aylla; Sister, Connie Hanner of Michigan; Brother, Gilbert Elam of Louisiana; Brothers-in-law, Anthony (Leah) Edwards, Tim (Cheryl) Edwards and Pat Edwards; Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends; Special Friends, Chuck & Della Miller; Beloved Dog, Cassie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the West Elkton Church of Christ, 12153 State Route 503 South, West Elkton, OH with Ministers Paul Pennington and Hugh Howard officiating. Family will receive friends following the service at the church in West Elkton. Arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, 220 E. Main St., Eaton, Ohio.
